💰 NFL Season Week 1 & Week 2 NCAACF - Let's Go! 🏈

👀

Nick Bosa has agreed to a five-year, $170 million extension with the San Francisco 49ers, including $122.5 million guaranteed, by a wide margin. It will make him the highest-paid defensive player in history.

The new market has been set. And Steelers fans’ have collectively let out a sigh.

We’ll see how the 49ers and Steelers matchup shapes up on Sunday. It should be a hard hitting, barn burning affair.

But before we get there, let’s start with tonight’s game, the Chiefs vs. the Lions.

Also, here are the other things we have for you today:

  • NFL Thursday Night Football: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Detroit Lions (Today, 8:20PM ET)
  • NFL Fantasy Outlook (Who to Play?)
  • NCAA College Football Matchups to Watch

NFL TNF: Detroit Lions @ Kansas City Chiefs

Lines:

No surprise here. Kansas City is heavily favored. However, one interesting point: Travis Kelce is trending towards not playing vs. Lions.

We expect the Chiefs to win this game regardless of Kelce playing. The question comes down to whether the Chiefs will cover the spread.

Detroit has covered in 12 straight season openers (longest streak since at least 1979), while Kansas City has covered in eight straight season openers.

It’s an immovable object meeting an unstoppable force.

Even still - we like the Chiefs to cover at -4.5.

Picks:

  • Moneyline: -235 Chiefs to Win Outright
  • Line: Chiefs -4.5
  • Over/Under 53: Under 53

Other props to consider:

Skyy Moore receiving yards: Over 45.5 (-129). If there's a wide receiver who could serve as Mahomes' new No. 1 on Thursday night, Moore is certainly a candidate. The second-year wideout caught just 22 passes for 250 yards in his rookie season, but is going to be given the opportunity to step up in the passing game in 2023.

Jahmyr Gibbs receiving yards: Over 31.5 (-131). Gibbs is assumed by many to be Detroit's new receiving back. One big gain off a screen could guarantee we hit this number.

Harrison Butker made field goals: Over 1.5 (-109). If Kelce is out Thursday night, Mahomes loses his No. 1 red-zone threat. That should open the door for the Chiefs to stall in the red zone at least once. Give me Butker to make two field goals in Week 1.

David Montgomery anytime TD (+102)

NFL Fantasy Starts Week 1

Here are some questions to answer going into week 1:

  • Should You Start Amon-Ra St. Brown or Garrett Wilson?

Both are must-starts, don’t get me wrong, but you need to consider game script when splitting hairs at this level. While St. Brown plays in a game that could fly past 50 total points, I’m not sure the Monday nighter gets to 45.
  • Should You Start David Montgomery or Raheem Mostert?

With Jeff Wilson Jr. out, De’Von Achane banged up, and the Dolphins interested in keeping the Bolts’ offense off the field, Mostert is a must-play for me, while Montgomery is more of a fine Flex option.
  • Should You Start Travis Kelce or Sam LaPorta?

If the Chiefs play Kelce, you play Kelce. Keep your notifications on and monitor pre-game warmups.

NCAA College Football Matchups

Our highlighted matchups for the weekend are Alabama vs. Texas and Colorado vs. Nebraska.

Check out the lines for all the matchups this weekend below:

No. 11 Texas at No. 3 Alabama

The Spice of Spice Bowl

Last time Texas and Alabama met, it was a nail-biter, with Alabama barely stealing the win with a last-minute field goal.

This time, it's anyone's game as Texas' star quarterback, Quinn Ewers, is back and on fire. But Alabama isn't just going to hand over the victory, setting the stage for a football showdown that promises more tension than a season finale of a telenovela.

The advice here? Grab your popcorn, and maybe place a small bet on Texas +7.5 (-115) because we're hopeful Texas has that secret sauce this time around!

Nebraska at No. 22 Colorado

The "Don't Count Your Buffaloes Before They Hatch" Match

Colorado has Deion Sanders and an impressive victory under their belt, but let's not get carried away; their running game was more like a walking game last week.

Meanwhile, Nebraska was... well, very Nebraska, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in a way only they can. It's a game that seems more unpredictable than a cat on a hot tin roof, but we're betting that Colorado's home game vibes will give them that -3 (-110) edge. It's going to be wild, weird, and possibly a little bit hilarious. Don't miss it!

They did him dirty. Although for Browns fans, I’m sure all is forgiven with a win this weekend.
